A foreign medical doctor was looking for a job. Not unlike any bakery sales assistant, truck driver and teacher, basically like all of us in that kind of situation, he was a bit insecure and nervous. We prepared his CV by adding his language skills, his driver’s license and his hobbies. We prepared his oral presentation, these few but decisive words that shall ensure the new employment. Furthermore, we addressed possible questions and answers – just in case. Finally we provided business cards to him.
The first Rule:
“Be prepared!”
So he went to a hospital where he did not intend to work. Why did we do that? If he failed he had at least gained the experience. He went and introduced himself to the assistent. Rather unexpectedly the assistent told him right away if he’d wait a few minutes he could talk to the professor in charge. “Whom may I report?” He repeated his name and slid his business card across the counter. 30 minutes later he had had his interview and had been offered the employment needed.
The Rule:
“Doing by Doing!”
